Session three of the Road Safety Capacity Building Program Focuses on Strategic Planning

On 8 April 2025, the third session of the Road Safety Capacity Building Program webinar series was delivered. The series, Data in Action: Using Global and Local Data Sources to Enhance Policy, Investment, and Implementation, is being co-delivered by the Asia Pacific Road Safety Observatory (APRSO), the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the CAREC program.  

More than 130 participants actively participated in the session that focused on effective strategic planning for road safety.

Director of Lӧsningar Dr. Jessica Truong provided the lead presentation, and was joined by APRSO Focal for Armenia Ms. Arevhat Poghosyan from the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure.

The presentations focused on how to utilise the data from the WHO Global Status Report on Road Safety 2023 and other complementary data sources for effective road safety strategy and action plan development and a key case study from Armenia on the use of data sources to prepare the country’s road safety strategy and plans.

A series of polls and question and answer sessions provided strong engagement for the participants, who were drawn from governments, nongovernmental organizations and APRSO partner stakeholders.
