Road Safety Capacity Building Webinar Series 1
Event Body

Overview

The APRSO and CAREC Road Safety Capacity Building Program webinar series is designed to engage Developing Member Country (DMC) road safety managers and technical practitioners, civil society organizations, research institutions, private sector, international organizations, and ADB staff in an immersive and targeted initiative to build capacity and understanding in the application of a Safe System approach to road safety interventions.

In support of the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021 - 2030, this series seeks to provide direct opportunities to share global and regional best practice and to highlight specific examples of replicable interventions and action. It serves as an opportunity to connect global, regional, and national expertise with practitioners to uncover tools, approaches, and data that can be directly applied to enhanced policy, investment, and implementation of road safety.

First series: The first focus of the series is:

Data in Action: Using Global and Local Data Sources to Enhance Policy, Investment and Implementation

Improving data and translating data into policy and action is more important than ever in our regional efforts to reduce deaths and injuries. Starting in March 2025, this series will build upon the momentum of the Fourth Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety to share best practice data, knowledge, and implementation for Asia and the Pacific.

This online training program will provide expert global and regional guidance on the application of data from the World Health Organization's (WHO) Global Status Report on Road Safety and other sources in:

  • Formulating country insights and comparative analyses
  • Making valid comparisons between countries
  • Utilizing data in the prioritization of country road safety actions and strategies
  • Featuring data collection tools and methodologies that could be used to address existing data gaps
  • Measuring road safety progress
  • Effectively communicating and financing road safety work

Series date and time: The webinar series runs every second Tuesday from 15:00 - 16:30pm Manila time.

  • Tuesday 11 March
