New Road Safety Capacity Building Program Webinar Series launched
The Asia Pacific Road Safety Observatory (APRSO) and the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) will kick off a road safety capacity building program webinar series in March 2025.
The webinar series will build upon the momentum of the Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety to share best practice data, knowledge and implementation for Asia and the Pacific.
The first focus of the series is: Data in Action: Using Global and Local Data Sources to Enhance Policy, Investment and Implementation
Improving data, and translating data into policy and action is more important than ever in our regional efforts to reduce deaths and injuries. This online training program will provide expert global and regional guidance on the application of data from the World Health Organization's (WHO) Global Status Report on Road Safety and other sources in:
- Formulating country insights and comparative analyses
- Making valid comparisons between countries
- Utilizing data in the prioritization of country road safety actions and strategies
- Featuring data collection tools and methodologies that could be used to address existing data gaps
- Measuring road safety progress
- Effectively communicating and financing road safety work
Hosted by APRSO, CAREC Program, and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the series will engage developing member country (DMCs) road safety managers and technical practitioners, civil society organizations, research institutions, and ADB staff and consultants.
The topics for the succeeding sessions will be announced in the coming weeks and will run through October 2025.
The grant fund for this event was received from the Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction (JFPR) financed by the Government of Japan through ADB.
