Road safety financing is one of the most critical and underexplored challenges facing transport systems across Asia and the Pacific. How can governments strengthen and diversify the resources needed to save lives on the road?

This highlights video captures key moments from the Asia Pacific Road Safety Conference 2025 and APRSO Annual Meeting, held 9–11 September 2025 at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Headquarters in Manila, Philippines. Co-hosted by APRSO, ADB, and the Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP), the conference brought together senior government officials, development partners, and road safety practitioners from across the region under the theme "Strengthening and Diversifying Financing for Road Safety."

The video features perspectives from ministerial participants and leading voices in the global road safety community, including remarks from Jean Todt (UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for Road Safety), David Cliff (CEO, Global Road Safety Partnership), Aggie Krasnolucka (Programmes Director, FIA Foundation), Shigeo Shimizu (Executive Director for Japan, ADB), and government ministers and officials from Armenia, Bhutan, Cambodia, and other member countries.

Sessions covered in the highlights include:

- Elevating road safety investment and securing financing commitments in developing countries

- Aligning road safety funding with national priorities on climate change, health, and economic growth

- Multi-sector approaches to mobilizing private sector participation

- The adoption of APRSO's new Safe System-centered Strategic Plan for 2026–2035

- Country experiences and progress reports from APRSO member focal points

The conference was supported by the ADB Japan Fund for Prosperous and Resilient Asia and the Pacific (JFPR), the Office of the UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for Road Safety, the Embassy of Sweden in Manila, iRAP, Bridgestone Asia Pacific, the Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP), and the FIA Foundation.
