The Asia-Pacific Road Safety Observatory, the Asian Development Bank, and the CAREC Program webinar series 2, Innovations in Safe & Sustainable Transport: Road Safety as part of Liveable & Resilient Cities, ran from May–July 2025.

The five-session online training program focused on strengthening understanding of the alignment between road safety, climate action, health, access to education and employment, and urban resilience. The series also highlighted innovations in technology and AI, and on policy and investment to catalyze a stronger impact in road safety and aligned development priorities

 

Specific topics included:

🔸 Road safety and climate change

🔸 E-mobility, safety and last-mile connectivity

🔸 The critical role of speed for urban livelihoods and sustainability

🔸 Urban resilience, planning, and safe transportation

🔸 Road safety as a core function in enabling access to education and employment

 

The grant fund for these events was received from the Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction (JFPR) financed by the Government of Japan through the Asian Development Bank.
