APRSO Steering Committee Holds First Meeting of 2026
The Asia-Pacific Road Safety Observatory (APRSO) Steering Committee convened its first meeting of 2026 on 18 March, bringing together Steering Committee members and representatives of the APRSO Secretariat.
The meeting opened with a reaffirmation of the Steering Committee’s mandate and functions, followed by an overview of current membership composition, providing context for ongoing governance and engagement.
Members discussed the APRSO framework as informed by the Strategy and Operational Action Plan for the Asia Pacific Road Safety Observatory (2026–2035), aligning on priorities to guide the Observatory’s work. Against this framework, members reviewed progress achieved in 2025, and looked ahead to the 2026 workplan and schedule of activities, outlining key milestones and priority actions for the year.
An open forum discussion provided an opportunity for members to exchange views on emerging priorities and challenges. The meeting concluded with a summary of agreed actions and next steps, followed by other business.
The Steering Committee will continue to meet on a regular basis to provide strategic direction and oversight, supporting APRSO’s mission to strengthen road safety data, policy, and practice across the Asia-Pacific region. The next meeting is scheduled in June 2026.
