The APRSO Steering Committee met on 10 June 2026, continuing regular engagement to guide the Observatory’s work and maintain momentum to enhance road safety delivery across the region.

Discussions focused on moving key priorities forward, including the establishment of task forces to support more focused and sustained work in priority areas.

Members also considered the expansion of non-voting membership categories, reflecting growing interest from partners to engage more closely with APRSO and contribute to its activities.

Initial discussions also helped shape preparations for the 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM), including priority topics and overall direction.

The meeting included a welcome to new Steering Committee members elected by the General Assembly last April:

  • Mr. Geldimyrat Haldurdyyev (Turkmenistan) – term beginning 2026
  • Mr. Syed Minhas Mahmood (Pakistan) – term beginning 2027

Members also paused to acknowledge the passing of a valued colleague from the Philippines, Undersecretary for Road Transport and Non-Infrastructure Ramon Reyes, who served on the Steering Committee until his death in late May, and to recognize his contributions to road safety and to the APRSO community.
